About Birmingham Heart Clinic (BHC)

BHC has experienced steady growth since its inception in 1994.

Located in Trussville, Alabama, just a few blocks away from St. Vincent’s East (Medical Center East) hospital, BHC’s facility contains clinical offices, an active research department and a full range of diagnostic equipment. The on-site diagnostic facility was one of Birmingham’s first to earn accreditation by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL). It was also one of the first 1,000 echocardiography labs in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico to be recognized for its commitment to high-quality patient care and diagnostic testing. BHC also utilizes the Toshiba 64-slice CT scanner to provide top-quality computed tomography imaging, a non-invasive diagnostic method that reduces patients’ needs for invasive heart catheterization studies. Additionally, the Spectranetics Corporation recognized BHC as a Center of Excellence for coronary and peripheral laser ablation therapy—only the second group in the U.S. to receive this honor.
BHC has satellite locations in St. Clair County located at Northside Medical Associates in Pell City, Alabama and in Blount County located at St. Vincent’s Blount Hospital in Oneonta, Alabama.
