August 20, 2014
On August 8, Birmingham Heart Clinic (BHC) celebrated its 20th anniversary of providing comprehensive cardiovascular care to communities in Birmingham and beyond.
Since its inception in 1994, BHC has experienced steady growth in its expansion of both services and locations. In 2005, BHC relocated to a new office complex in Trussville located at 100 Pilot Medical Drive, just a few blocks away from St. Vincent’s East Hospital. This larger facility contains clinical offices, a research department and a full range of diagnostic equipment. This site was also one of Birmingham’s first facilities to earn accreditation by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL) and be recognized for its commitment to high-quality patient care and diagnostic testing.
In 2008, BHC continued its pursuit of excellence and received additional accreditations in nuclear cardiology (ICANL) and computed tomography (ICACTL). During the same year, BHC continued its expansion by adding a satellite clinic in St. Clair County, located at Northside Medical Associates in Pell City.
In 2013, Birmingham Heart Clinic added two more satellite clinics: one in Blount County located at St. Vincent’s Blount Hospital in Oneonta and one in St. Clair County located at St. Vincent’s St. Clair Hospital in Pell City. In 2014, BHC opened its 5th clinic location in the greater Birmingham area on the Trinity-Montclair Medical Center campus.
Diagnostic services offered at BHC include echocardiograms, electrocardiograms (EKGs), nuclear stress tests, Doppler carotid artery evaluations, non-invasive flow studies of the lower extremity arteries and veins, and cardiac pacemaker and defibrillator testing and follow-up. BHC also offers endovenous laser ablation therapy (EVLT) for the treatment of varicose and spider veins.[/fusion_text][/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
